This year, the opera “Der Freischütz” is on the programme on the newly built lake stage in Bregenz.
Director Philipp Stölzl has designed a completely new stage design in keeping with the dark story, which clearly stands out from the traditional green hunting and forestry pathos.
The audience is transported to a village battered after the 30 Years’ War, which lies in the midst of winter cold, dilapidated village houses and wacker stones.
This demanding backdrop presented the team of stage designers with special challenges, especially due to the limited space available and the need to work mobile and light.
The village houses and stones were prefabricated from wood and polystyrene constructions and treated on site with mineral spatulas to achieve a realistic look.
For the finish of the Wacksteine, the team chose the adhesive filler from Baumit.
Due to the confined space, the use of large mixer and feed pumps as well as large compressors was not possible.
Instead, the BMP 7 screw pump was chosen, combined with the C330/3 compressor.
The continuous mixer feeds the mix directly into the 60-litre hopper of the BMP 7 electric feed pump, which conveys the material to the spray lance via a 10-metre material hose.
There, the filler is atomized with oil-free compressed air.
The conveying speed of the BMP 7 can be adjusted as required via a potentiometer.
For pressure relief, the pump has a reverse gear.
Control is carried out via a remote control cable directly from the spray lance.
Maintenance
The C330/3 mobile compressor, a low-speed 230 V compressor, provides the necessary oil-free compressed air and is ideal for continuous use on the confined construction site.
